IRVING, Texas – Junior forward Nneka Enemkpali was named Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, as chosen by a media panel. Enemkpali was recognized for the first time this season and the fourth occasion in her career.
Enemkpali recorded a Big 12 season-high 21 rebounds to lead Texas to a 66-63 victory over No. 18/21 West Virginia on Saturday. The Pflugerville, Texas native scored 15 points (6-9 FG, 3-4 FT) with two blocks in 34 minutes during UT’s only game of the week.
The junior forward leads the league in rebounds (9.1 rpg) and became the first player in the Big 12 to pull down 20 rebounds in a game this season.
It is the first Phillips 66 Big 12 Player of the Week honor for the Longhorns this season.
