MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) - Sheldon McClellan scored 15 points as Texas lost to No. 18/21 Kansas State 83-57 on Wednesday night at Bramlage Coliseum.
The Longhorns (9-11, 1-6) shot 56.5 percent from the field in the second half, but could not overcome a 19-point halftime deficit. K-State (16-4, 5-2) was led by Thomas Gipson’s 17 points in 21 minutes off the bench.
Jaylen Bond came off the bench for Texas to register season highs in points (12), rebounds (eight) and minutes played (21).
Texas returns to action on Saturday against TCU in Austin. The game will be televised on Longhorn Network beginning at 7 p.m. CT.
